One more thing and then I’ll quit preaching.

One more thing and then I’ll quit preaching. At least for today.
It gives me a lot of joy to pass on to y’all whatever little bits of wisdom I may have learned in my life and I hope there’ll be more and deeper wisdom to come. I hope it’ll help smooth y’all’s paths so y’all will be free to make different mistakes from mine.

(My thought is that the reason the human race never makes progress in any meaningful way, like improving our human nature, is that every generation makes the same mistakes as the one before it and never learns from anybody’s experience but their own.)

Anyhow, this last quote holds the key, Girls, to your own satisfaction in marriage. No, in your whole life. And it’s the key for men, too. Written by a man.

“To know what you prefer instead of humbly saying Amen to what the world tells you you ought to prefer, is to have kept your soul alive.” – R. L. Stevenson

My Darlings. Figure out what it is you really, really want in life and get after it. Time runs like a river.

While you’re thinking about that, make this for a treat for summer supper.
