Chocolate Cake That Doesn’t Last

½ cup butter
1 and ¼ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 squares melted chocolate
1 t. vanilla
2 cups sifted cake flour
½ t. salt
1 and ½ t. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk

Cream butter, adding the sugar gradually. Add whole eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each. Add chocolate and vanilla. Beat well. Sift the flour, salt, and soda together and add the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk.

Pour into greased and floured 13×9 pan or two layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
